Biography

Nicole Marschall resides in Apple Valley with her husband Todd & their two dogs Stuart & Xena. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Morris, with a degree in Vocal Performance/K - 12 Music Licensure, where she also studied Piano Performance and Accompanying. Additionally, she studied music at the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.

Ms. Marschall has taught voice and piano privately and in the classroom at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels. She currently teaches private voice and piano lessons to all levels in the southern Twin Cities. She has received recognition for "Who's who in America's Teachers" from 2006 - 2009. She is a member of the National Association of Singing (NATS), and Apple Valley Music Teachers Association (AVMTA). Ms. Marschall has studied voice with Jean del Santo, Janet Ahern, Ulrike Sych (of the Vienna School of Music), and Donna Robin (former Vienna State Opera Soloist). She has studied piano with Julia Tinhof of Vienna, and Kay Carlson.

Ms. Marschall has been the music director and pianist for the Burnsville Senior High School musical theater program, under the technical direction of Randy Day, since 2002. In ten short years, Ms. Marschall has musically directed and/or played for over 30 musicals. She was recently appointed to the position of Chorus Master for the University of Minnesota, School of Music spring semester opera production of "The Magic Flute", after completing her first project with the Opera Theatre program, Stravinsky's "Le Rossignol". She is thrilled about the partership that both David Walsh and the University is providing for local high school students through these community outreach projects. She presented "Body Movement and Musical Theatre for Young Voices" at the MMTA Summer Conference in June of 2009.

Professionally, Ms. Marschall has sung in the chorus for Sarah Brightman's "La Luna World Tour", Vienna, Austria; and in the following productions at Orchestra Hall: Maurice Ravel's "L'Enfant et Les Sortileges" and Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony". She has been the Rehearsal Accompanist for Schoenberg's Gurre-lieder, a UMM Chorus project with the MN Orchestra, and UMM's African Sanctus. She accompanies for many local high schools and local productions, including Normandale College. She has played for the former UMM Chancellor (Sam Schumann) numerous times at both the UMM and UMTC campuses and has played for UMN recruitment events.

Ms. Marschall performs often in the community at coffeehouses and for weddings and special occasions and sings in the non-profit cover band "All My Favorites". She enjoys being a rock star for the band and loves that the group dedicates their time & talents to the arts, having helped to raise and donate over $120,000 in the past eight years to benefit the local arts community.
